Oedura is the pseudonym for Sydney multi-media artist Owen Redmond. Stemming from an enthusiasm for aquatic aesthetic, Oedura’s endeavours dive deep into endless subterranean fields. This is reflected through explorations into the possibilities of immersion via exposure to bottomless textural frameworks.

This exploration extends itself onto Reverie, playing with these auditory abstractions as the medium for accessing dissociative states while being actively engaged in the listening process. This access not only informed the creation of the piece, but also functions as the intended outcome of the listening experience, attempting to be absorb and engulf while simultaneously retaining a still quality that allows for a level of detachment.

Autechre and this album are the reasons why I recently started to look into electronica. All of these songs have something dark and artful about them. The last one is rather upbeat. Not really danceable unless you like dextrose too much. tr_🇺🇦
